Driving Commercial Excavation Project Success with a Commitment to Collaboration
Close collaboration with project partners and ownership was a significant key to success in delivering the construction sitework and excavation services for Faulkner Subaru’s new location in Easton, PA. This ambitious project brought Brubacher together with general contractor Speedwell Construction to transform an open field into a modern car dealership. Challenges posed by the Lehigh Valley’s clay soils, stormwater management constraints, and pre-existing site conditions were numerous, but Brubacher’s ability to provide Insight. On Site. while living out our values of Safety, Integrity, Initiative, and Teamwork, created an atmosphere in which every individual and team was equipped with the solutions they needed to drive success. With our extensive expertise in excavation, soil management, and value engineering, we navigated all complexities to ensure the project’s efficient progress toward a planned grand opening of Faulkner Subaru in spring 2025.
Providing added value to Faulkner Subaru, which is something Brubacher strives to accomplish for every client partner we serve, was achieved very early in the project as we identified some cost-saving opportunities that had not appeared in the pre-existing engineering plan. The project required extensive soil stabilization, including soil cementing and remediation work to address the site’s historical use as a dumping ground. Despite these challenges, our efficient land clearing and debris removal approach as part of site preparation made a significant difference.
In addition to land clearing, the comprehensive project scope for site excavation services included erosion controls, mass earthwork, and installation of stormwater and sanitary sewer systems. Notably, as a solution to physical space constraints on the site, our innovative stormwater management solutions included constructing a GeoStorage® system beneath the parking areas, featuring an 18-foot-deep basin about the size of a football field. Our work also encompassed asphalt paving, curbs, sidewalks, and a landscaping irrigation system. The Brubacher team is honored to have contributed to this significant milestone for Faulkner Subaru, enabling them to vastly increase their business capacity and better serve their growing customer base.
