On December 1, 2013 Brubacher achieved 555 workdays with no lost time work injuries! This encompasses over a year and a half, or more than 750,000 hours worked, without an injury requiring a co-worker to miss a day’s work.

Making this accomplishment especially noteworthy are the diverse and constant challenges faced by Brubacher crews. Multiple crews trenching every day, paving on roadways, working at night, removing snow on mountain roads, directional drilling, blasting, hauling large equipment, land clearing, earthmoving and more demands constant attention in order to identify and limit hazards.

Daily pre-work huddles, weekly toolbox talks and regular site safety observations, coupled with the commitment of Brubacher employees to do what’s right, are key elements of this achievement. Complementing these safety pillars is a model return-to-work program accommodating those with minor injuries. Brubacher team members enjoy both a safe work environment and strong support for addressing hazards identified in the planning process.
