Our general laborers perform a variety of manual tasks, including hand digging with a shovel, jack hammering asphalt, carrying materials or tools and more. Laborers may assist the supervisor with other designated tasks.
General Laborer Responsibilities
The General Laborer performs a wide variety of manual tasks designated by the supervisor, including:
- Hand digging with a shovel
- Jack hammering asphalt/concrete
- Carrying a wide variety of materials and tools
- Signaling equipment operators to facilitate alignment or adjustment of materials or equipment
- Operating small pieces of equipment such as cut-off saws, compaction equipment, and light vehicles
- Assisting supervisor with setting up grade stakes and setting inlets, manholes, and water valve boxes to grade.
- Using hand tools
