Shaping the World We Live In ...

Aqua Christian Street

Two BEI pipe crews are working at the Aqua Christian Street project in Clifton Heights, Delaware County, PA. The work consists of 8,200 linear feet of water main along with the installation of 220 services. Job completion (including paving) is scheduled for 2012. Crews have been challenged by shallow unmarked sanitary sewer laterals uncovered in the area.

Providence Corner

Providence Corner, previously known as Burbank Grove, is a project in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County. K. Hovnanian Homes has contracted with BEI to complete the project which was originally started in 2008. Brubacher crews will be replacing water services to comply with new regulations, moving existing Belgian block to conform to the revised housing footprint and completing roadways.

Reserve at Gwynedd

Pulte Homes has contracted with BEI for dedication work at its Reserve at Gwynedd project around Lansdale, PA. The BEI crew will be removing and replacing a large amount of concrete work as well as repairing water lines. The project began the last week in September and is slated to be completed by Thanksgiving. The biggest challenge for the BEI crew during the work is to not inconvenience the residents who live in this community.

Alburtis Crossing

Another job for our dedication crew is Alburtis Crossing in Lower Macungie, Lehigh County, PA. Panattoni Construction, Inc. has contracted with BEI to convert two large basins by the beginning of November. Although work will be completed on time, the crew has struggled to work around the unusual high amounts of rainfall we've received this fall.

UGI Gas Main Extensions

UGI Utilities has contracted with BEI to install gas pipeline in two different locations in Pennsylvania. The first site in the Hazleton area consists of 30,000 linear feet of pipeline running through three counties. The line begins in West Hazleton and ends to the east of McAdoo in Schuylkill County. Crews have encountered rocky conditions, unmarked old utility lines, and find that each morning begins in fog until the sun rises. At present, traffic control is the biggest challenge as the crew works along busy Route 309.

The second UGI site is closer to home, covering 18,000 linear feet of pipeline to be installed in Brecknock Township and East Earl Township in Lancaster County, PA, ending at the Valley Protein plant. The crew has performed several horizontal borings.

Brian Keith (L) and John Spadafora (R) fuse a gas main, which will run from Muddy Creek Road to the Valley Protein property in Lancaster County, PA.
