Northern Tier Update: Behind the Scenes
In the last issue of "The Latest Scoop, we used beautiful photos to depict some of our work in the Northern Tier: stone as the premier mineral, a well-pad construction, a pipeline clearing project and the water impoundments within the state forest system. Those photos help tell the story of Brubacher Northern Tier's journey to date. However, there are many unglamorous, daily, behind-the-scenes efforts in the Marcellus Shale region that need brute strength, technical talent and knowledge to make the industry operate.
The "know-how" of our capable fleet technicians not only enables us to meet our commitments but also allows us to keep our equipment resources safe and productive. It isn't unusual for our NT team to venture onto single-lane, cliff-hanging pathways carved out of a timbered hillside to provide routine maintenance or repair. Additionally, this is done without the comfort of a climate-controlled, four-walled structure. Technicians Jim Rau, Titus Weber, Weaver Nolt and Travis Miles have continued to persevere among the muck, snow, dust and northern winds to keep the fleet in operation as the demands increase from our BEI clients.
If the knowledge of our mechanics is the technical talent depicted previously, then the TimberJack Skidder (see photo) certainly personifies the brute strength. Recently, our Land Clearing Department implemented the services of this "monster" to pull out stuck trucks. Although the actual recovery process was time consuming, the efforts provided the needed boost to keep our client on schedule.
Our Timberjack Skidder comes in handy as NT crews encounter the wet and muddy elements in their mountainous locations.
Fleet Technicians at the Northern Tier are called on rain or shine to keep BEI's machinery running and productive.
