BEI Recognized by Lighten Up Lancaster County

Brubacher Excavating, Inc. was recognized by the Lighten Up Lancaster County Coalition at a banquet held at Lancaster General Hospital's Weight Management Center on February 9, 2011. Lighten Up Lancaster is a group of concerned individuals, organizations and employers who want to increase the number of children and adults in Lancaster County who are a healthy weight. The Well Workplace Award acknowledges the commitment and philosophy held by business ownership and management to encourage wellness in the workplace.

BEI was recognized for its proactive stand on health and its wellness program, which has hosted pedometer challenges, the Biggest Loser weight loss contest, educational programs such as Employee Lunch & Learn, and a Wellness Day for employees and their family members that offered testing and screenings of common health concerns. These activities have been coordinated through the BEI Wellness Committee. Kim Glick, Chair of the Wellness Committee, notes: "Brubacher Management believes that life is a precious gift, therefore we want to promote positive choices and lifestyles for good health and fitness for employees and their families."
