Brubacher Lends Skidder to College Forestry Program
Brubacher recently lent a John Deere 648G III skidder to the forest technology majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology for eight weeks during the Fall 2014 semester. Two classes taught at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center—Forest Equipment and Safety Operation & Timber Harvesting and Equipment—are learning how the machine fully operates and the impact it has on the land. Herb Brownett Serving on Board of Directors for ABC
Brubacher’s CFO, Herb Brownett, has been chosen to serve on the Board of Directors of the southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC). Last year, Herb’s name and resume, along with others, were presented to the nominating committee for consideration. Once accepted, the nominating committee recommended the names to the chapter members for final approval. This two-year commitment for Herb began in January 2014. Herb commented, “I’m excited about the opportunity to become more involved with a great chapter of an organization that brings significant value to the construction industry.

Brubacher Presented with THREE ABC awards

Brubacher has been presented with three awards by the Associated Builders & Contractors (Eastern PA Chapter). We accepted our ABC Merit Award for site work excellence in Heavy Construction at the 23rd annual awards banquet. The other two awards, a T.E.A.M. Bronze award and Silver S.T.E.P. award, were also given to us for our safety education programs.

Kris Hay, Director of Fleet at Brubacher, has been recognized by Construction Equipment magazine on their 2013 list of “Under 40 in Construction Equipment.” The awards showcase young talent in the construction equipment industry. This year’s winners were chosen for their leadership skills, inventiveness, interpersonal skills, training, dedication, personal integrity, technical skills, and industry and community involvement. Winners range from the asset managers of fleets to distributors and manufacturers.
Dave Buckwalter's Article Featured in International Journal

Brubacher Drilling and Blasting Superintendent Dave Buckwalter has written an article that will appear in the International Society of Explosive Engineers Journal. In the article Dave details the new security system for explosives magazines using available cellular telephone-based technologies. Dave outlines Brubacher’s research into what was available to us and our findings on which unit was the best fit. The choice had a user friendly set up and operation. It also offers quick notification via cellular modems, text messaging, phone calls and e-mail. In addition, our security system of choice monitors and evaluates vibration, movement and thermal changes, as well as offers the convenience of being remotely controlled by text messaging and the internet.
